Fleece, roving, & pelts for sale
Fleeces. Spring 1998 Update. Our blanket production has expanded to the point of consuming most of our
available wool. We have temporarily suspended sales of raw fleeces so that we may
focus on our core business. We do know many fellow breeders who may have fleeces
available. Email us and we'd be happy to refer you to other sources.
Jacob fleeces are handspinners' delight. Imagine the possibilities of blending the
three colors into an infinite array of gray. Jacob fleeces average 4 to 6 pounds are vary
in the proportion of black and white. At Swallow Lane we breed for fine, even fleeces with
clear color distinction. We know you want quality, so our fleeces will never contain the
coarse, bristly or kempy wool that can sometimes appear in some Jacob stock.
Roving. We generally have roving (washed, carded, ready-to-spin fleece)
available in the three colors we use in our blankets (charcoal, gray, white). We an
assortment of the three colors in 8 oz balls for $8.
Pelts. Jacob pelts are truely unique. We have a variety of pelts available, in a
range of sizes, patterns and lengths of wool. Pelts are priced $80 to $100, based on size
and finish.
